The role directs daily operations, supervises staff, ensures regulatory compliance, quality assurance, budgeting, and resource planning to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Direct and evaluate daily operations of diagnostic imaging services.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate technical staff; coordinate workflow.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and NYSDOH standards.
• Oversee quality assurance, quality control, and performance improvement.
• Monitor productivity, patient volumes, and staffing utilization.
• Assist budgeting, resource allocation, and equipment planning.
• Develop and maintain departmental policies and protocols.
• Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to coordinate patient care.
• Support staff orientation and continuing education.
• Promote patient-centered service and excellent customer care.
• Perform ultrasound examinations as needed within scope.
• Provide clinical instruction to students and trainees in ultrasound.
