Job summary

The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks a full-time TH Medical Radiography Assistant Director / Ultrasound Manager to provide clinical, technical, and operational leadership for diagnostic imaging services in a busy urban hospital.

The role oversees daily operations, staffing, QA, safety, and performance improvement, with specialized ultrasound oversight and direct diagnostic ultrasound examinations as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible clinical ultrasound imaging experience.
• Current ARDMS certification.
• Knowledge of patient safety, QA, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of diagnostic imaging services and ultrasound.
• Supervise staff, schedule, train, and evaluate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and NY health regulations.
• Oversee quality assurance, performance improvement, and reporting.
• Manage budgeting, equipment planning, and procurement.
• Collaborate with radiologists and hospital leadership to coordinate care.
• Support education and training for students and staff.
