Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a TH Medical Radiographer in the Ultrasound department. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound exams, assisting physicians, and teaching imaging students.

The candidate should be a graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program in General Ultrasound with ARDMS Abdomen registration (or registered within 12 months) and hold BLS certification. Preference is given to those with at least one year of ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program in General Ultrasound.
• ARDMS Registered in Abdomen (must register within 12 months if not already).
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic exams, positions and transfers patients, and selects proper technical factors.
• Provides protection and assists physicians while maintaining safety standards.
• May conduct periodic quality control tests and participate in required research.
• Will teach imaging students or hospital personnel in accordance with department guidelines.
