Qualifications

• Two-year Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography OR Graduate/Certificate of AART approved program or CAAHEP recognized sonography program
• 3-6 months clinical experience
• BLS certification prior to first clinical shift (American Heart Association)
• Strong technical proficiency in abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular sonography
• Ability to assess and analyze ultrasound images for diagnostic purposes
• Excellent communication with patients, physicians and staff

Responsibilities

• Ultrasound Imaging: Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound exams across abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, small parts and vascular studies
• Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety during the examination process and provide clear instructions
• Image Quality: Operate ultrasound equipment and optimize image quality
• Documentation: Maintain accurate patient information and diagnostic images
• Collaboration: Work with radiologists and physicians on preliminary findings
• Patient History: Document relevant medical history for the exam
• Equipment Maintenance: Keep equipment and rooms clean and functional
• Quality Assurance: Adhere to safety guidelines and ongoing education
• Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in sonography techniques
• Patient Privacy: Ensure confidentiality of patient information
