Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Bluffton is seeking an Echocardiographer to perform diagnostic echocardiograms and support cardiologists with high-quality images. The role requires handling fixed and portable studies, with varying shifts across full-time, part-time, or PRN schedules.

Responsibilities include image acquisition, patient preparation, and preliminary findings, while ensuring safety and comfort. ARDMS/CCI certification and 1 year of clinical experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field; Certification Program in lieu of Associate Degree accepted.
• Graduate from a CAAHEP Cardiovascular program preferred.
• One year clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms as ordered.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain exams, and ensure patient comfort.
• Acquire and optimize cardiac ultrasound images according to established protocols.
• Measure and calculate cardiac structures, blood flow, and functional parameters.
• Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics.
• Provide preliminary technical findings to interpreting physicians.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic medical systems.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assurance and continuing education activities.
