Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (PRN) to perform ultrasound studies including obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, and vascular exams. The role involves collaborating with physicians to select the appropriate procedures, educating patients, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout the exam.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and hold BLS certification; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• One year of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound studies ( obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, vascular, small parts).
• Consult with referring physicians regarding patient history and equipment selection.
• Educate patients about procedures and equipment to ensure understanding.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after exams.
• Assist with scheduling and prioritizing ultrasound appointments.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS; RIS billing.
