Job summary

GCT Inspection, Inc. in Pasadena, CA seeks an experienced NDT Level II UT Technician to perform ultrasonic flaw detection on welds and materials. The role emphasizes UT with additional Level II certifications and radiation safety training for broader NDT services.

You will set up and calibrate UT equipment, interpret results, document inspection findings, and train Level I staff. Work safely in shop, field, and industrial environments while adhering to ASME, AWS, API, and ASTM standards.

Qualifications

• Current NDT Level II UT certification per ASNT SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.
• Additional Level II certifications in MT/PT/VT/RT preferred.
• 40-hour Radiation Safety Training completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform UT testing using straight-beam and shear-wave techniques to detect flaws.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate UT equipment per procedures.
• Interpret results and compare to acceptance criteria (ASME, AWS, API, ASTM).
• Prepare inspection reports with sketches and photos.
• Maintain, calibrate, and document calibration data.
• Provide on-the-job training to Level I technicians.
• Work safely in shop, field, and industrial environments.
• Collaborate with project managers and quality teams to meet schedules.
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
