Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking an experienced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Technician – Level II to join our inspection team in Compton, CA. You will set up and calibrate UT equipment, perform inspections, and interpret results with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on ultrasonic testing experience.
• Must have completed classroom NDT UT Training Hours.
• Overtime flexibility up to 4 hours/day (6 hours on Saturdays when needed).
• High school diploma or GED; post-secondary NDT training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive testing on materials, components, and structures according to procedures.
• Interpret and evaluate inspection results, identify discontinuities, and determine their relevance to product integrity.
• Set up and calibrate UT equipment and tools including scanners, ultrasonic equipment, and eddy current equipment.
• Document findings and generate detailed technical reports per codes and customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with other technicians in testing and interpretation of test results.
• Guide Level I UT Technicians as needed.
• Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training and development opportunities.
