Job summary

Promet Source is seeking an experienced UI/UX Lead to join a remote, part-time team based in the Chicago, IL area. You will lead discovery, guide design direction from concept through delivery, and mentor other designers grounded in user needs.

Responsibilities include running workshops, translating requirements into user-centered solutions, creating user scenarios, and partnering with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes testing, ongoing user research, and UX metrics to drive outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UI/UX design or related role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing UX/UI work and process.
• Experience leading client discovery sessions and workshops.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to articulate and defend design decisions.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design, usability and design thinking.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal), and HTML/CSS.
• Experience with Government clients is a must.

This role focuses on leading discovery and guiding design direction from early concept through delivery, while mentoring other designers and ensuring outcomes are grounded in user needs.

Role focus

• Lead discovery efforts, including client workshops and discovery sessions
• Collaborate with clients to align on business goals and user needs

• Must be based in the United States
