Job summary

System One is seeking a UI/UX Developer in Gaithersburg, MD to design and implement intuitive, responsive web interfaces for complex applications. The role emphasizes translating user workflows into efficient experiences and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has strong front-end skills (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and experience with modern frameworks (React/Angular). A Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph ability is required for this onsite position.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 4–8 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience with modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience designing user-centered interfaces for complex applications.
• Understanding of UX principles, usability, and interaction design.
• Experience working in Linux-based environments.
• Ability to translate user needs into functional design solutions.

Responsibilities

• UI/UX Design & Implementation: Design and develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces for web-based applications
• User Experience Optimization: Translate complex workflows into simple, efficient user experiences that improve usability and adoption
• Front-End Development: Build and maintain front-end components using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or similar)
• Usability & Accessibility: Ensure applications meet usability standards and accessibility best practices
• Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain consistent design patterns, components, and style guides
• User Research & Feedback: Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve interface design and functionality
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to align UI/UX with system capabilities
• Performance Optimization: Improve front-end performance, responsiveness, and scalability
