UI/UX Designer III Remote
Summary We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to raise the design quality of the AI-powered tools Prod Ops builds for its partners. As our Prod Ops invests in building AI tools, we need to invest in not only ensuring our tools are reliable but also in the design and visual branding. You will act as a shared resource across all Prod Ops priority investments. In this role, you will own design research, product design, visual and brand identity, and the design system that ties our portfolio together.
Responsibilities
- Design Research & User Insights (40%): Take our products to users - both our own team and product partners - run structured product design feedback sessions, and translate findings into prioritized improvements. Conduct usability testing on existing and in-development tools, synthesize findings into actionable product recommendations, and maintain a research repository that informs roadmap decisions.
- Product Design & Prototyping (25%): Turn research into artifacts that drive decisions and ship improvements. Create design specs, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups for new products and features; conduct design reviews of existing products and proposed changes; and build interactive prototypes for stakeholder alignment.
- Visual & Graphic Design (20%): Own the visual identity layer across our product suite. Design logos and visual identity for internal products and services, create graphics and illustrations for user interfaces and communications, and develop marketing and launch materials for internal tool rollouts.
- Design System Development (15%): Build the connective tissue that makes our products feel like one family. Build and maintain an internal design system (component library, style guide, patterns), ensure visual and interaction consistency across the portfolio, and document standards so team members can ship on-brand without a designer in the loop.
- Front-End Contribution: Contribute directly to builds through vibe coding - particularly marketing pages, brand artifacts, and lightweight front-end experiences.
- Documentation & Enablement: Document design standards, research methods, and system patterns so the team can apply them independently.
- Collaboration: Partner with builders, product partners, and stakeholders to identify adoption friction and translate user needs into scoped design work.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of UI/UX design experience, with internal tools or B2B products preferred
- Portfolio showing range across user research, interaction design, and graphic design
- Proficiency in Figma for specs, prototyping, and design systems
- Experience designing standards for vibecoded web apps
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent design requests across products, prioritizing based on impact
- Clear communication skills for documenting standards and collaborating with Prod Ops ICs and cross-functional teams (as needed)
- Self-directed with the ability to ramp quickly through structured onboarding
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or maintaining a design system from scratch
- Experience designing for AI-powered or agent-based products
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks and component libraries
- Experience designing brand and launch materials for product rollouts
