Job summary

NS2 Mission in Chantilly, VA is seeking a UI/UX Developer to blend user-centered design with modern front-end development. You will translate user needs into intuitive, accessible interfaces using React, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

You'll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, create wireframes and prototypes, and contribute to design systems while ensuring responsive, visually cohesive experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience in UI/UX design and front-end development.
• Ability to conduct user research and translate findings into designs.
• Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows with modern tools.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React, Next.js, or similar front-end frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS and modern responsive practices.
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
• Attention to detail balancing user needs, design requirements, and technical considerations.
• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research and gather feedback to understand user needs and workflows.
• Translate requirements into wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs.
• Develop responsive interfaces using React, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Apply HTML and CSS with modern front-end practices to ensure accessible visuals.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders throughout the design and development lifecycle.
• Build reusable interface components and contribute to design systems and libraries.
• Apply color theory, typography, layout, and grid systems for cohesive visuals.
• Evaluate designs through usability testing and stakeholder feedback.
• Promote accessibility and responsive design across applications.
• Support transition from design concepts to production-ready components.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and work with development teams to implement designs as intended.
