The Maryland Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance, is seeking an UI Professional III (Trainer) to design and deliver end-user training on the BEACON system across benefits, taxes, contributions, appeals, and other UI areas. Responsibilities include creating training materials, delivering virtual and in-person sessions, and supporting stakeholders.
A minimum of six years in eligibility work is required, with degree-based substitutions allowed for experience.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB CREATE AND PROVIDE END-USER TRAINING TO DOL/UI STAFF ON USE OF THE BEACON SYSTEM IN THE AREAS OF BENEFITS, TAX/CONTRIBUTIONS, APPEALS, REEMPLOYMENT, INTEGRITY, FEDERAL REPORTING AND OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE AREAS.
DESIGN, CREATE, REVISE, AND PROVIDE ONGOING TRAINING AND DEMONSTRATIONS OF THE BEACON SYSTEM AND OTHER UI SYSTEMS VIA VIRTUAL, FACE TO FACE, AND ASYNCHRONOUS TRAINING. DELIVER END USER TRAINING IN BEACON IN ALL AREAS OF BENEFITS, TAX/CONTRIBUTIONS, APPEALS, OR OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE AREAS. PARTICIPATE IN TEAM TEACHING AND TRAINING. PROVIDE SUPPORT TO ALL STAKEHOLDERS IN NAVIGATING THE SYSTEM. ASSIST WITH OTHER DIVISION SPECIFIC TRAINING AS ASSIGNED BY THE UI TRAINING MANAGER.

Experience: Six years of experience in a public or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program or other programs. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in a public or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program or other programs for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications. (1) year of experience in public speaking, group presentation skills, and teaching to a diverse audience in a private or corporate setting.
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications. Creating training that is inclusive of disabled audiences. Using Learning Management Systems to present training materials. Developing engaging training modules that include online platforms. Google Docs, Drive, Slides, Sheets, etc. (or the Microsoft equivalent). Graphic Design is a plus. Unemployment Insurance experience a plus.
Personnel employed in this classification will have access to federal tax information and must undergo a state and FBI criminal background check as a condition of employment. All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (MD Labor/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to MD Labor/DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
