Runavir is seeking a highly experienced UI Front End Software Engineer (SWE3) to lead a team of UI developers and shape frontend architecture within an agile environment.

You will mentor junior developers, translate UX/UI designs into accessible interfaces, and collaborate with system engineers and product stakeholders across the full software lifecycle. Strong frontend skills and security clearance readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) years of Software Engineer experience in similar scope and complexity.
• Seven (7) years in software database and repository interface development.
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks and core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Full-stack experience with backend development and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure; GovCloud a plus).
• Experience partnering with UX/UI and systems engineers to implement accessible interfaces.

UI Front End Software Engineer

Runavir is seeking an experienced UI Front End Software Engineer (SWE3), directly meeting mission-critical needs in partnership with mission customers. This individual will lead a team of UI developers, designing front-end architecture and coding standards while remaining hands‑on in development across the full software product lifecycle in an agile environment.

Work Schedule

Standard business hours. No regular night, weekend, or holiday work is required for this position. No pager duty. No CONUS or OCONUS travel required.

Essential Responsibilities (describe the day‑to‑day)

• Lead and mentor a team of UI/front‑end developers, providing technical guidance, standards, and code review.
• Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front‑end solutions using modern frameworks, translating prototypes and design specs into functional, responsive, accessible interfaces.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs, and contribute to full‑stack efforts as needed, including backend services, database interactions, and deployment pipelines.
• Establish and enforce front‑end coding standards, best practices, and component reuse across the team.
• Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to preserve design intent through implementation, and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross‑browser issues, and technical debt.
• Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG) throughout development.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

General office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Twelve (12) years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, including seven (7) years in software database and repository interface development.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team.
• Strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), including state management, component-based architecture, and responsive design.
• Full-stack experience, including backend development (Node.js, Python, or Java) and RESTful/GraphQL API design.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud a plus).
• Experience partnering with UX/UI and systems engineers to accurately implement accessible interfaces.

Security Clearance Required

Top Secret//SCI w/Polygraph

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional Software Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Minimum Years of Experience

Twelve (12) years of experience as a Software Engineer, including seven (7) years in Software Database and Repository Interface Development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tiered architectural systems and working in a Linux/Ubuntu environment.
• Experience with GovCloud specifically, in addition to general AWS/Azure familiarity.
