Job description

Responsibilities

• Experienced UI Front End Software Engineer (SWE3), directly meeting mission‑critical needs in partnership with mission customers.
• Lead a team of UI developers, designing front‑end architecture and coding standards while remaining hands‑on in development across the full software product lifecycle in an agile environment.
• Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance standards, and develop, debug, integrate systems, and implement algorithms to meet performance goals.
• Translate UX/UI designs into accessible, production‑ready interfaces; mentor junior developers while collaborating closely with system engineers and product stakeholders to resolve technical problem areas.
• Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front‑end solutions using modern frameworks.
• Translate prototypes and design specifications into functional, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
• Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure design intent is preserved through implementation.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, and technical debt.
• Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG) throughout development.

Required Qualifications

• Active and current TS.SCI with full security package through Maryland.
• Twelve (12) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team.
• Strong proficiency in modern front‑end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Full‑stack experience, including backend development (Node.js, Python, Java, RESTful/GraphQL API design).
• Experience with state management, component‑based architecture, and responsive design.
• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud). Plus for AWS or Azure or GovCloud.
• Experience working closely with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure accurate implementation of accessible interfaces.
• Experience working with tiered architectural systems and in a Linux/Ubuntu environment is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Compensation

The proposed salary range for this position is: $215,731.00 – $230,393.00.
