Job summary

Big 5 Sporting Goods is seeking an organized Unemployment Insurance Coordinator to support multi-state UI claims from our El Segundo headquarters. You’ll collaborate with HR, stores, and state agencies to ensure accurate, timely handling of claims and provide training and support for career growth.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and experience with UI processes and related systems.

Qualifications

Experience with unemployment insurance processes across multiple states.
Proficiency with HRIS, case management, or document management systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

Review unemployment insurance claims and agency correspondence.
Gather and organize information and supporting documentation from stores and corporate departments.
Assist with responses to unemployment claims and fact-finding requests.
Track claim deadlines, hearing schedules, determinations, and outcomes.
Maintain accurate and organized electronic claim files.
Prepare documentation for hearings and appeals.
Communicate with managers and HR to collect separation information.
Prepare reports and track claim activity.
Support process improvements to streamline claims administration.
