Job summary

Air Products in Chandler, AZ, seeks an UHP Analytical Engineer to optimize analytical systems across facilities in the Americas. You will design, install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot trace-level gas analysis equipment, supporting SPC and data integrity.

This role partners with Process Controls, Operations and QA, travels up to 25% and requires a bachelor’s degree in instrumentation, chemistry, or engineering plus extensive experience with UHP analytics. A safety-first mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation, chemistry, engineering, or a related scientific field is required.
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  • 15 years of work experience with UHP analytical systems in the Specialty or Industrial Gas industries is required.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English is required.
  • Travel up to 25% is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support UHP analytical systems requirements of operating facilities.
  • Drive analytical strategy through consensus with stakeholders.
  • Ensure uptime, reliability, and data integrity of gas analysis systems.
  • Define and support analytical technology selection and installation.
  • Work with vendors to test analytical technologies with low total cost of ownership.
  • Lead training activities related to equipment and processes.
  • Support FMEA and CAPA activities and perform RCA.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS and customer expectations; drive improvements in data quality.
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in multi-functional teams.
