Job summary

DB Tax & Accounting (DBTA) is seeking a Tax Director to lead UHNW tax compliance and planning, overseeing a team of professionals and driving complex engagements. You’ll shape tax strategies, manage client relationships, and stay current on federal, state, and international tax developments, with strong leadership opportunities in a collaborative, entrepreneurial firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
• CPA required.
• Master’s in Taxation or JD/LLM preferred.
• 8+ years of tax experience, including leadership experience.
• Proven experience with ultra-high-net-worth clients.
• Deep expertise in federal, state, and international tax.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• High-level client relationship management skills.
• Experience with CCH and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Partner with DBTA leadership on recruitment, training, and professional development of tax staff.
• Manage the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, private foundations, and international entities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations.
• Develop and implement tax strategies that align with clients’ financial goals and mitigate tax liabilities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with UHNW clients, understanding their unique financial situations and objectives.
• Provide expert advice on year-end planning, estate and gift tax planning, and captive insurance planning.
• Advise clients on tax implications of various financial decisions, including investments, business transactions, and estate planning.
