Position Overview

This role involves delivering nursing care using the nursing process, applying clinical knowledge, and exercising independent judgment to achieve quality patient outcomes. The nurse will perform duties within the scope of a Registered Nurse (RN) - Level I, as defined in the job description.

The nurse must demonstrate skills at the advanced beginner level, providing relevant care, assessing patient data, and understanding growth and development across the lifespan. The role involves professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and Licensure

• Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or appropriate state board, or multi-state licensure through eNLC.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• At least one (1) year of nursing experience.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include modifying care plans based on data, using evidence-based practices, delegating appropriately, verifying care plans with team members and patients, providing education, promoting communication, influencing policies, utilizing resources, participating in organizational growth, and engaging in professional development. Other duties may be assigned.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of annual education related to specialty accreditation.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, work in various physical positions, and operate in environments with biohazards, infectious diseases, and electrical hazards.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, clinical practice, critical thinking, flexibility, and stress management skills.
