UHC United Hospital Center is seeking an HR Support Specialist to provide back-office coordination of unemployment claims, orientation programs, and HR initiatives across the organization. This role emphasizes compliance, documentation, and service delivery to employees and leaders.

You will partner with HR Business Partners, manage scheduling in Workday, support new employee orientation, training sessions, and data reporting to identify trends and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • Associate’s degree with two years HR support experience or equivalent.
  • High School diploma with five years HR support experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support unemployment claims processing and tracking.
  • Coordinate and resolve general HR inquiries via Employee Relations & HRBP contact.
  • Assist scheduling organizational and training sessions in Workday.
  • Organize New Leader Orientation including invites, materials, and attendance.
  • Contribute to updates for New Employee Orientation and Follow-up Orientation.
  • Facilitate presentations and trainings as needed.
  • Coordinate regulatory compliance tasks (WV Cares, PA fingerprinting).
  • Stay informed on labor law changes and ensure HR practices comply.
  • Assist with system initiatives and special projects for HR.
  • Assist with investigatory interviews and routine employee inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure policy compliance.
  • Assist in performance management documentation and reviews.
  • Compile and analyze HR data for reporting and trends.
  • Support leaders in scheduling meetings and calendar management, time admin.
  • Reconcile credit card, order supplies, and process invoices for the department.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives and events.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.OR Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field and two (2) years of HR support experience.OR High School diploma and five (5) years of HR support experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:EXPERIENCE:1. HR Generalist/support experience.CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As an advocate for WVUH/UHA employees, company and departmental goals and initiatives and HR Compliance, demonstrate knowledge of management and employee needs and apply that knowledge to create solutions.1. Support the processing and tracking unemployment claims.2. Coordination and resolution of general inquiries assigned to the Employee Relations & HR Business Partner point of contact for emergent calls and service requests.3. Support department with scheduling organizational and training sessions and attendance tracking in Workday.4. Organize and coordinate New Leader Orientation including scheduling room, sending invites, ordering lunch, preparing participant materials and capturing attendance in Workday.5. Contribute to the continuous and annual review and updates of materials for New Employee Orientation, New Leader Orientation, and Follow-up Orientation.6. Facilitate presentations and trainings as needed.7. Coordinate, arrange, and monitor regulatory compliance tasks, including WV Cares and PA fingerprinting requirements.8. Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations and assist in ensuring HR practices comply with legal requirements.9. Assist the HR team in executing system initiatives and handling special projects as needed.10. Assist with investigatory interviews as necessary. Handle routine employee inquiries and issues, providing information and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and programs.11. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.12. Assist in the administration of performance management processes, including documentation, tracking performance reviews, and providing support to managers and employees.13. Compile and analyze HR data for reporting purposes, helping to identify trends and areas for improvement.14. Provide support of department leaders in scheduling meetings, calendar management and department organizational duties as requested.15. Serve as department time administrator. Order Supplies as needed. Reconcile credit card account. Process departmental invoices.16. Participate in and support employee engagement initiatives and events to foster a positive workplace culture.17.
