Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic in Huntsville, AL for a contract-to-hire position. This role focuses on phase maintenance, inspections, and subsystem servicing of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters in a high-tempo environment.

You will work with aircraft systems per military manuals, maintain logs, and ensure airworthiness. AIT 15T and PMI experience are prized; 4+ years in rotary-wing maintenance preferred. onsite work with comprehensive benefits and a structured schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for MOS 15T or equivalent civilian aviation maintenance training.
• FAA Airframe Powerplant (A/P) certification preferred but not required.
• UH-60 experience strongly preferred (or other rotary wing with PMI phase maintenance).
• Phase Maintenance (PMI 1/2) experience and 4+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled phase inspections including teardown, detailed inspection, and reassembly of aircraft components.
• Remove and install major aircraft subsystems such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, and flight controls.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in hydraulic, fuel, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct lubrication, servicing, and functional checks of aircraft systems.
• Maintain accurate aircraft historical records and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations.
• Prepare aircraft for flight post-maintenance, including ground runs and operational checks.

This includes in-depth inspections, repairs, and servicing of aircraft systems and subsystems in accordance with military technical manuals and aviation standards.Job Type LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Meridianville, Alabama.

• Collaborate with quality assurance personnel to ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations.
• Assist in preparing aircraft for flight post-maintenance, including ground runs and operational checks.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with rotary-wing aircraft systems.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-tempo environment.
• Familiarity with Army maintenance procedures and documentation standards (e.g., DA Form 2408 series).
• Knowledge of aviation logistics and supply chain coordination.

Additional Skills Qualifications

• Completion of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for MOS 15T or equivalent civilian aviation maintenance training.
• FAA Airframe Powerplant (A P) certification preferred but not required.
• UH-60 experience strongly preferred (will consider other military rotary wing platforms on a case-by-case basis if they have phase maintenance experience).
• Phase Maintenance (PMI 1/2) experience.
• 4+ years of experience (will consider less on case-by-case basis).

Work Environment

The work environment includes a shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, with four 10-hour workdays. The facility is equipped with advanced technologies and equipment to support your work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
