Under the general direction of the UG Mine Manager, the UG Mine General Supervisor at Kinross’ Round Mountain mine in Nevada provides front-line leadership for safe, efficient and productive underground mining operations, leading crews, coordinating daily execution of development and production plans, and maintaining compliance with MSHA, Nevada, environmental and company standards. The supervisor plans and assigns underground work including drilling, blasting, ground support, bolting, scaling, mucking, haulage, ventilation and rehab, conducts pre-shift meetings, and coordinates with Maintenance, Engineering, Geology, Safety and Mine Rescue. A minimum of six years of underground mining experience is preferred, with at least three years in a supervisory, lead hand, shift boss or foreman role, along with current MSHA Part 48 Underground training or the ability to obtain it.
