Job summary

Kinross Gold’s Round Mountain operation in Nevada seeks a UG Mine General Supervisor to lead underground crews, ensure safe, efficient development and production, and uphold MSHA and company standards. The role requires strong leadership, planning, and decision-making in a high-risk environment.

You will coordinate with maintenance, engineering, safety, and operations to meet targets, conduct pre-shift meetings, and maintain records while fostering a proactive safety culture and accountability

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• HS diploma; technical training or degree in mining/engineering preferred.
• 6+ years underground mining experience; 3+ in supervisory role.
• Experience leading underground crews in development, production and rehab.
• Strong MSHA requirements knowledge and Nevada mine safety expectations.
• MSHA Part 48 Underground training current or ability to obtain before starting underground work.
• Ability to interpret mine plans, ground support standards, and operational reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-shift coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead underground crews to meet daily, weekly, and monthly development, production, rehabilitation, and construction targets.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign underground drilling, blasting, ground support, mucking, haulage, and related activities.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, communicate daily objectives, review conditions, and ensure crews understand the plan.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Geology, Safety, Mine Rescue and other groups to execute mine plans.
• Verify crews are trained, competent, and properly equipped for the work.
• Maintain strong field presence to enforce standards, mitigate hazards, and support safe production.
• Promote hazard recognition, stop-work authority, and timely corrective actions.
