AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a System Test Engineer II to develop and execute system test plans for small unmanned air vehicles and missiles, covering simulator, ground, and flight tests.

You will log, analyze data, and document results, supporting developmental tests and interfacing with flight-test directors. The role requires 2–5 years of relevant test experience, scripting for automation, and willingness to travel within the Continental U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and experience (required)
• 2–5 years' experience in related industry or projects that include conducting system or flight tests
• Experience with scripting and programming languages to automate testing is a plus
• Pilot or aircrew experience would be beneficial

Responsabilités

• Support developmental test and evaluation of sub-systems, model-scale, and full-scale testing
• Assist the Flight Test Director during flight tests
• Determine and communicate test objectives for subsystems, the system, and flights
• Develop test cards to verify objectives are met
• Review System Requirements to ensure concise, testable requirements
• Participate in test/readiness reviews, test briefs and post-test debriefs
• Prepare test assets and configure hardware/software; write test cards and procedures
• Process and analyze test data to determine results; use MATLAB/Excel for analysis
• Capture test activities, fill data sheets, and transfer telemetry files
• Enter test failures or anomalies in issue-tracking; summarize activities in reports
• Determine regression test needs based on subsystem changes
• Develop ad-hoc tests to troubleshoot failures
• Estimate time for testing and meet project schedules
• Collaborate with outside labs and assist technicians during testing
