The System Test Engineer II at AeroVironment, Inc. develops and executes System Test Plans for small, unmanned air vehicles and missiles and their subsystems.

Testing spans simulator, ground and flight tests with data logging, analysis and documentation of results. The candidate will support developmental test and evaluation, develop test cards, review requirements, and participate in readiness reviews and debriefs, while ensuring proper configuration of hardware/software and test equipment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline (Software, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace) or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 - 5 years' experience in related industry or projects that include conducting system or flight tests
• Experience with scripting and programming languages to automate testing is a plus
• Experience as a pilot or aircrew member would be beneficial
• Position requires 10-30% travel within the Continental U.S.

Responsabilidades

• Support developmental test and evaluation of sub-system, model-scale, and full scale testing.
• Assist the Flight Test Director during flight tests
• Develop test cards to verify that objectives are met
• Review System Requirement documents to ensure concise, testable requirements
• Participate in test and flight readiness reviews, test briefs, and post-test debriefs
• Prepare test assets and configurations, write test cards and procedures, maintain test equipment
• Analyze test data using MATLAB or Excel and summarize results in reports
• Develop ad-hoc tests to troubleshoot test failures
• Estimate time required to conduct testing and meet schedule
• Coordinate with outside test labs and assist technicians during testing
• Follow instructions and work under moderate supervision
• Solve problems within defined procedures and contribute to project cost/schedule
