Job summary

A drone technology company is seeking a UAV Field Technician to install and maintain UAV systems at client locations in the DFW metroplex area, with potential for nationwide expansion. Applicants should have a high school diploma and preferably possess technical knowledge of drones and aviation regulations. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work in diverse environments. The role involves physical labor, including outdoor work and using hand tools to resolve issues and conduct repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery of UAV(s) to customer sites as needed.
  • Communicate with customers on-site personnel to maintain operations.
  • Setup client technical infrastructure and drone flight lines.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, component removal/replacement and testing.
  • Work together with engineering and client personnel for testing.
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • QC and test electronic component repairs and replacements.

Job description

UAV Field Technician drives Company provided vehicle to client sites and installs technical infrastructure and drone flight lines. Will accurately diagnose and troubleshoot device issues and makes necessary repairs when needed. May replace wireless devices, systems, and other accessories/components for UAV technology at various client locations. Current job requires client sites within the DFW metroplex area but may expand nationwide in the future.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Coordinate delivery of UAV(s) to customer sites as needed.
  • Communicate with customers on‑site personnel to maintain operations.
  • Setup client technical infrastructure and drone flight lines.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, component removal/replacement and testing.
  • Efficiently work together with engineering and client personnel for equipment, flight, and UAV testing.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • QC and test electronic component repairs and replacements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Prefer technical knowledge of flight and UAV management.
  • Prefer knowledge of aviation regulations and procedures.
  • Prefer knowledge of drone technology.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills are necessary.
  • Must have clean, valid drivers license.
  • Must have mechanically inclined with experience in using small hand tools.
  • Prefer professional, academic, or personal experience in drone technology.
  • Prefer FAA Part 107 license.
  • Possess superior time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to interface cooperatively with departmental team members and clients.
  • Needs strong safety and work ethic and be able to recognize the importance of properly handling hazardous materials, chemicals, toots, etc.
  • Must have proficient computer skills and other relevant computer application skills related to UAV technology.
  • Must be able to work in rugged terrains and in all types of weather conditions.
  • Show strong interest in aviation.
  • Show strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical assembly instructions.
  • Needs the ability to think in 3D.
  • Must have strong concentration skills.
  • Needs the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Working Conditions

Must be able to tolerate outside work environment. Must be physically fit to walk for extensive periods of time. Individuals may need to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; preform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting to 100 pounds.
