Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an Avionics Technician to support Test Operations at the Gray Butte or El Mirage facilities in Southern California.

You will work on UAV electronic systems, ground control stations and associated equipment, troubleshooting and sustaining fleets including MQ-1C, MQ-9 variants and other platforms. Under supervision, you will install, configure and repair avionics hardware and software, read schematics and technical orders, and ensure

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or trade school equivalent; education may be substituted with related experience.
• Ability to perform non-routine tasks and demonstrate basic avionics principles.
• Troubleshoot at component level using test equipment, tools and schematics.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics and technical orders.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to work any shift and extra hours as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate UAVs, ground control stations and related equipment at operational locations.
• Provide technical support for installation, configuration, and repair at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and repair ground and airborne electronic equipment.
• Repair or replace components based on test results and technical docs.
• Install, configure and test computer hardware, software and networked systems; diagnose malfunctions.
