Job summary

General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC, at Creech AFB, seeks a Field Avionics Technician to support MCE Maintenance and rotate between 2nd and 3rd shift. This role covers installation, testing, and maintenance of unmanned aircraft electronic equipment, ground control stations, and related systems.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or trade school plus six+ years in aviation/electronics.
• Ability to perform non-routine tasks with avionics and electronics knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot at the component level.
• Analyze data and recommend solutions.
• Proficient with electronic test equipment and tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical orders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; team player and travel capable.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows OS desirable.
• RF systems maintenance experience desirable.
• Experience with TELNET and FTP desirable.
• Certifications in A+, Network+, Security+ desirable.
• Must be able to rotate 2nd/3rd shift schedule.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Operates UAV, ground control stations and ground support equipment and all subordinate systems at operation locations.
• Analyzes customer requirements and evaluates product implementation to meet specifications and end user applications.
• Provides technical expertise on the installation, configuration, application and repair of products and systems to customers at operational locations.
• Performs high level troubleshooting and repair of ground and airborne electronic equipment.
• Utilizes product knowledge, sound judgment and logical reasoning to determine technical solutions to complex problems.
• Repairs or replaces components based on test results and documents.
• Performs installation, configuration and test of computer hardware, software and networked systems.
• Performs inspections and preventative maintenance on ground and airborne systems.
• Recommends changes to technical documents and procedures based on system expertise.
• Conducts training and practical instruction of peers and customers in the use of ground and airborne electronic systems.
