Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a UAV Production Technician I to join the UAV Production team in Maryland. Under direct supervision, you will assist in the assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft and related equipment, supporting multiple payload configurations and system programming.

You will perform mechanical/electrical assembly, use a range of hand and power tools, and participate in quality inspections while following SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to operate fabrication equipment (drill presses, band saws, upcut saws, press brakes, metal-cutting shears).
• Completion of recurring Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness training upon hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical and/or electrical assembly, testing, and integration of electromechanical components and subassemblies.
• Use hand tools, adhesives, and fasteners to assemble UAV components and subassemblies.
• Align, fit, and join component parts using precision measuring equipment and tools.
• Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and subsystems.
• Perform unmanned aviation ground handling activities.
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures and components.
• Assist with quality inspections and verification checks throughout production.
• Follow SOPs and safety requirements; maintain production equipment.
