Job summary

Platform Aerospace is seeking a UAV Production Technician I to assist in the assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft and related equipment under direct supervision.

You will support payload configurations, program aircraft systems, and maintain ground support equipment, following SOPs and safety standards. Requires a high school diploma and 0-2 years in a similar role; ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, 0-2 years experience.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to strict quality and safety standards.
• Ability to operate fabrication equipment, including drill presses, band saws, upcut saws, press brakes, and metal-cutting shears.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical and/or electrical assembly, testing, and integration of electromechanical components and subassemblies using blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Use hand tools, adhesives, and fasteners to assemble UAV components and subassemblies.
• Align, fit, and join component parts using precision measuring equipment, calibrated hand tools, and power tools.
• Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and subsystems.
• Perform unmanned aviation ground handling activities.
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures and components.
• Assist with quality inspections and verification checks throughout the production process.
• Follow established work instructions, SOPs, and safety requirements.
• Maintain equipment used to support aircraft production and mission operations.
• Comply with production procedures, maintenance manuals, and quality standards.
• Report discrepancies, defects, or process issues to supervisors and team leads promptly.

Job Summary Under direct supervision, the UAV Production Technician I is responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft and related equipment. This role supports the integration of multiple payload configurations, programming of aircraft systems and subsystems, and the maintenance of associated electrical and mechanical ground support equipment.

Major Responsibilities and Duties * Perform basic mechanical and/or electrical assembly, testing, and integration of electromechanical components and subassemblies using blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

• Use hand tools, adhesives, and fasteners to assemble UAV components and subassemblies.


• Align, fit, and join component parts using precision measuring equipment, calibrated hand tools, and power tools.

• Ability to operate fabrication equipment, including drill presses, band saws, upcut saws, press brakes, and metal-cutting shears.


• Completion of recurring Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness training upon hire and annually thereafter.


• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, blueprints, and schematics.


• Willingness to learn and adhere to strict quality and safety standards.


• Preferred Qualifications * Experience performing routine and preventive maintenance on aircraft systems, subsystems, and ground support equipment.


• Composite, structural, and mechanical repair experience.


• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


• Familiarity with military aviation operations.


• Physical Requirements * Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:


• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.


• Ability to distinguish differences in wire and indicator light colors.


• Operation of hand and power tools.


• Lifting, carrying, and/or moving tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
