is seeking an Aerospace Engineer (Senior) with a focus in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems. The selected candidate must be a highly motivated self-directed engineer with experience performing all-source scientific and technical (S&TI) engineering analysis on fixed wing, UAVs, and subsystems.
What You’ll Do
- Perform scientific and technical (S&TI) all-source engineering analysis to discover and exploit key technical characteristics, performance, weapon / subsystem configuration, and fact-of-possession information, as required by the applicable DoD program Life-Cycle Mission Data Plans for select non-US fixed-wing UAV systems and subsystems
- Maintain online database records, including images, weapons, capabilities, and performance data
- Collect and evaluate information to determine relevancy and accuracy of systems and subsystems for specified UAVs
- Provide written all-source assessments that meet ICD 203 and NASIC or other IPC standards regarding characteristics, performance, capabilities, and vulnerabilities of foreign UAVs
- Document UAV data, including capturing assessments in databases and published formats
What You’ll Bring
- An active TS / SCI clearance is required
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, computer, or electrical engineering with at least 10 years of related experience in aviation, aeronautics, electronics, and/or UAV subsystem and weapon integration, or equivalent education, training, and experience
- Experience performing unclassified and classified research on UAV performance, characteristics, capabilities, vulnerabilities
- Experience with written all-source assessments meeting ICD 203 and NASIC standards
- Experience in UAV research, development, design, and flight testing
- Ability to document work with sourcing into database records
- Knowledge of UAV SATNAV systems, receiver types, manufacturer specs, and ability to identify deviations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with SAVANT / KPS data tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to brief findings
- Experience with Intelligence Mission Data and DoD program data plans
- Ability to identify critical datalink and communication systems of UAVs
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree and 10+ years of related experience, including 3+ years in UAV subsystem and weapon integration
- Experience in UAV research, development, design, and flight testing
- Experience producing assessments per ICD 203 and NASIC standards
- Research experience on UAV performance and vulnerabilities
