Senior Aeronautical Engineer - Active TS/SCI
This job is active and open for applications. The position offers a salary range of $79,140.00 to $190,000.00 per year, depending on skills and experience. The Senior Aeronautical Engineer will be the primary air-vehicle integration lead, responsible for translating digital designs into safe, air-worthy hardware, and ensuring seamless integration across various aircraft types.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading aircraft-level mechanical and structural integration of hardware components.
- Developing and coordinating airworthiness documentation and flight clearance data.
- Performing trade studies and analyses to optimize form-factor options.
- Authoring and maintaining 3D CAD models and interface control documents.
- Supporting system integration laboratory setups and testing.
- Drafting test plans, conducting flight tests, and leading root-cause analysis.
- Managing program milestones, providing briefings to leadership, and mentoring engineers.
Required skills:
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- B.S. in relevant engineering fields; M.S. preferred.
- 10+ years of aircraft modification or hardware integration experience.
- Expertise in structural analysis, wiring/harness integration, and environmental qualification.
- Experience guiding systems from lab to flight within DoD frameworks.
- Proficiency with CAD software and familiarity with MBSE tools.
Desired skills:
- Experience with ABMS, OMS/UCI, CJADC2, or open-architecture avionics programs.
- Knowledge of multiband SATCOM, NSA crypto devices, and cross-domain solutions.
- Experience with Air Force flight clearance documentation.
- Certifications in Agile/Scrum or SAFe, and familiarity with DevSecOps in classified environments.
