Aquent, a premier talent solutions partner, seeks an experienced QA Engineer to validate on-device experiences and automated mobile tests for a major technology leader. You will drive test strategy, design robust test automation, and collaborate across engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality mobile features to a global audience.

Location options include Culver City or Cupertino with in-office Tue/Wed/Thu and remote Mon/Fri, through an 18-month engagement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software development and testing.
• 5+ years of dedicated experience in test automation for complex end-to-end systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python for writing test automation scripts.
• Proven experience in iOS automation and on-device testing.
• Experience designing robust test automation frameworks and tools for end-to-end and on-device testing.
• Solid understanding of testing activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Proficiency with tools such as Charles, Git, and Jenkins.
• Experience automating data analytics and reporting across multiple systems.
• Familiarity with front-end (JavaScript, React) and back-end (Python) development, API management, and databases (PostgreSQL).
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).

Responsibilities

• Own the validation and testing lifecycle for assigned projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage and quality.
• Execute detailed testing and validation tasks for mobile systems as part of the UAT team.
• Develop test cases and scripts based on defined test plans for existing and new features.
• Conduct on-device testing across a range of mobile apps to ensure optimal user experience.
• Design and implement automated tests for iOS applications using Python and Swift.
• Complete feature and campaign tests within established timelines and maintain documentation.
• Document test results and file defect tickets with clear communication for resolution.
• Provide regular status updates to the test lead with key metrics and coverage data.
• Coordinate with engineering and product teams to prioritize issues and accelerate resolution.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the validation and testing lifecycle for assigned projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage and quality.
• Execute detailed testing and validation tasks for mobile systems as a core member of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) team.
• Develop robust test cases and test scripts based on defined test plans, meticulously covering both existing functionalities and exciting new features.
• Conduct thorough on-device testing across a diverse range of mobile applications, ensuring optimal user experience.
• Design and implement advanced automated tests for target applications on iOS platforms, leveraging your expertise in Python and Swift.
• Successfully complete assigned feature and campaign tests within established timelines, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Document test results meticulously and effectively file tickets for any identified defects, ensuring clear communication for resolution.
• Provide regular status and progress reports to the test lead, including key test metrics, progress updates, and detailed coverage data.
• Lead coordination efforts with multiple engineering and product teams to streamline issue prioritization and accelerate resolution.
• Actively monitor application performance and expertly troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring seamless operation.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years of comprehensive experience in software development and testing.
• At least 5 years of dedicated experience in test automation for complex end-to-end systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in Python, with a strong focus on writing efficient and effective test automation scripts.
• Proven experience in iOS automation, including on-device testing.
• Extensive experience in the design and creation of robust test automation frameworks and tools, with a specific emphasis on end-to-end and on-device mobile testing.
• A solid understanding and experience with testing activities across the entire project lifecycle, from initial inception to final delivery.
• Proficiency with essential development and testing tools such as Charles, Git, and Jenkins.
• Experience in automating data analytics and data reporting processes across multiple systems.
• Familiarity with front-end development, including designing and implementing user interfaces with JavaScript and frameworks like React.
• Experience with back-end development, including developing and maintaining server-side logic using languages such as Python.
• Ability to manage APIs and integrate various third-party services and tools.
• Strong understanding of application data integrity and security principles, with experience in designing and managing databases like Postgres.
• Practical experience implementing CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows, particularly with Jenkins.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in creating detailed written test reports that effectively communicate test progress, status, test plan completion, identified defects, and associated risks to stakeholders.
