Job summary

Platform Aerospace is seeking a UAS Technician II-III to join Field Operations. The role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft and related systems in an OCONUS environment with up to 100% travel.

You will perform monitoring, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on UAVs and related components under the supervision of the Field Operations Manager. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma (or GED) with 2–5 years of relevant experience (Level II) or 5+ years

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on aircraft systems, subsystems, and ground support equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting engines, flight controls, avionics, technology systems, and associated components.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging techniques.
  • Familiarity with military aviation operations.
  • Up to 100% CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
  • Must currently possess and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • May be required to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.

CLASSIFICATION: Contract or Full-Time

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Up to 100% OCONUS

CLEARANCE: Secret This position may be filled as a full-time employee or 1099 Contractor depending on business needs and candidate fit.

Job Summary Under indirect supervision in an OCONUS environment, the UAS Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft and related equipment. This role performs monitoring, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on infrastructure equipment and associated electrical, mechanical, and sensor integration systems in accordance with customer requirements, specifications, and operational procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Military aviation maintenance experience.
  • Experience supporting deployed UAS ISR operations.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
  • Experience with composite, structural, and mechanical repairs.
  • Experience supporting expeditionary or overseas operations.
  • Experience with Group 3, Group 4, or Group 5 UAS platforms.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
  • Ability to distinguish differences in wire and indicator light colors.
  • Operation of hand and power tools.
  • Lifting, carrying, and/or moving tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Working in confined spaces and around aircraft.
  • Ascending and descending ladders or stairs as required.
