Job summary

TrellisWare Technologies is seeking a Product Systems Engineer for the Unmanned Aircraft Systems team. You will own end-to-end systems engineering of our cutting-edge hardware and software, from requirements through integration, verification, and post-release support.

This hands-on role requires deep knowledge of embedded architectures, RF/modem design, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration across hardware, firmware, and test. San Diego location with security considerations may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of two years’ multi-disciplinary technical background.
• Practical experience with wireless products – military or commercial.
• Strong experience in HW/SW product integration, debug, verification, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, execute, and support system engineering tasks across product development.
• Define product requirements with Business Development and Product Management.
• Decompose system requirements into subsystem requirements for hardware, FPGA, DSP, and microprocessor-based subsystems.
• Develop system architecture and design for RF, PHY, MAC, networking, and application layers.
• Collaborate with subsystem leads to ensure requirements are complete and well-communicated.
• Monitor development progress and identify risks to minimize project impact.
• Perform hands-on integration and bench testing of UAS systems in the lab.
• Oversee software product validation and system-level debugging efforts.
• Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing to define test and calibration requirements.
