Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a UAS Operator/Geomatics Specialist to advance renewables geomatics and surveying operations using UAS technologies. You will safely operate UAS on projects, collect geospatial data, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations.

Strong technical and communication skills are essential. You will coordinate with surveying teams and project management, maintaining equipment and supporting permits, while staying current with evolving project requirements and industry

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geospatial Science, Aviation, or related field preferred.
Minimum of two to three years of experience in UAS operations, surveying, or related field.
FAA Part 107 Certification (current and recurrent).
Experience in operating UAS for geospatial data collection (LiDAR, photogrammetry, orthomosaic).

Responsibilities

Set up and operate UAS equipment for LiDAR, photogrammetry, and orthomosaic mapping tasks.
Ensure equipment maintenance (propellers, batteries, accessories).
Conduct flight operations following federal safety guidelines.
Stay current with FAA regulations and compliance.
Communicate effectively with survey teams and project management.
