Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Technical Professional License and/or Virginia Collegiate Professional License with career and technical education endorsement in Remote Pilot.
• Must have the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Must be highly competent in Unmanned Aircraft Systems with at least two years of related experience within the past five years.
• Must be able to review, revise, and develop curriculum to meet industry standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develops a program to provide students with hands-on experience in flying drones.
• Ensures students develop skills to work with related tools, equipment and certification for entry-level employment.
• Manages student behavior, assesses achievement and adjusts instruction.
• Develops student understanding of UAS trades and safety practices.
• Sponsors and manages a student organization aligned with Virginia DOE curriculum.
• Instructs assigned classes at designated times and locations.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
