Job summary

Jobtailor in Tallahassee, FL, seeks an experienced geospatial technician to advance mobile remote sensing and UAS data workflows. You will collect, process, and deliver geospatial products, manage drone fleets, plan missions, assess risks, and ensure data quality to meet standards.

The role requires FAA Part 107 certification, strong communication, and ability to train others. On-site position with collaborative team and ongoing stakeholder support.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years experience or equivalent post secondary education in geospatial technology.
  • FAA Part 107 Pilot Certification (or obtain within 6 months).
  • Knowledge of surveying, mapping, and geospatial science.
  • Skills in geospatial data processing, mobile remote sensing processing, photogrammetric compilation.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly, prepare high-quality reports, and train others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced technical work in mobile remote sensing and UAS operations.
  • Collect and process geospatial data, and produce photogrammetric and topographic products.
  • Manage the department’s drone fleet and support stakeholder requests for geospatial data.
  • Conduct mission planning, risk assessment, and flight operations.
  • Ensure geospatial data meets relevant accuracy and quality standards.
  • Assist with training department personnel and stakeholders in geospatial data management.
