CHAOS Industries in El Segundo, CA, seeks an experienced UAS Pilot/Flight Test & Mission Operator to support full lifecycle unmanned aircraft operations—from development through customer missions and field deployments.

You will work with cross-functional teams, operate Group 1–3 UAS platforms (fixed-wing, VTOL, multirotor), and may perform roles such as Remote Pilot in Command or Mission Coordinator in dynamic test environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current FAA Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small UAS Rating (or ability to obtain one).
• At least two years of UAS operations, flight testing, aviation maintenance, avionics, military aviation, robotics testing, or related technical experience.
• Proven ability to configure, inspect, and safely operate remotely piloted aircraft across multiple platforms.

Responsabilités

• Review flight-test plans, test cards, mission objectives, engineering requirements, aircraft limitations, risk assessments, airspace/site conditions, and success/abort criteria.
• Coordinate with flight-test engineers, software/hardware engineers, avionics personnel, maintainers, and customer stakeholders.
• Prepare and inspect aircraft, payloads, batteries, propulsion components, ground control stations, communications gear, and support systems; verify configuration.
• Perform preflight functional checks and operate across UAS groups 1–3 across various airframes, adapting procedures and risk controls.
