Job summary

Skyeton in Fayetteville, NC, seeks an Aircraft Checkout Technician to perform final configuration verification, ground testing, and release-readiness activities for unmanned aircraft systems. This role ensures each aircraft and related systems are correctly assembled, documented, and safe before flight testing or delivery.

The position requires hands-on use of checkout procedures, test equipment, engineering data, and production records, working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality,

Qualifications

• Must read and follow engineering drawings and procedures.
• Experience troubleshooting discrepancies methodically.
• Ability to maintain traceability records for all aircraft data.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation quality.
• U.S. Person clearance under ITAR/EAR.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft checkout activities using approved drawings, specifications, test procedures, work instructions, travelers, and acceptance criteria.
• Verify aircraft configuration, installed equipment, serial numbers, software or firmware versions, payloads, options, markings, and required documentation.
• Conduct detailed visual and physical inspections for workmanship, security, damage, cleanliness, correct routing, and complete installation.
• Perform functional checks of electrical power, avionics, communications, navigation, flight controls, control surfaces, servos, sensors, propulsion, payloads, and ground-support interfaces as trained.
• Record test results, measurements, aircraft status, configuration data, discrepancies, corrective actions, and completion evidence accurately.
• Coordinate discrepancy troubleshooting with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, Avionics, Software, and Flight Operations.
