Job summary

Skyeton is seeking an Aircraft Checkout Technician in Fayetteville, NC. This hands-on role verifies final configuration, conducts ground and functional tests, and ensures documentation and traceability before flight testing or delivery.

You will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Flight Operations, and Program teams to resolve discrepancies, protect safety, and maintain airworthiness across unmanned aircraft systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical schooling is a plus.
• 3+ years in aircraft maintenance or related technical role.
• Ability to read drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and specs.
• Experience with multimeters, test equipment, and diagnostic software.
• U.S. Person qualification under ITAR/EAR.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work overtime or adjusted schedules.
• Ability to coordinate across Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft checkout using approved drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Verify configuration, serial numbers, software versions, and documents.
• Conduct visual/physical inspections for workmanship and cleanliness.
• Perform functional checks of avionics, power, controls, and sensors.
• Record results and communicate discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Coordinate troubleshooting with affected teams as needed.
• Maintain strict configuration control and use only approved parts/tools.
• Support production acceptance testing and customer demos.
