Job summary

AeroVironment in California is seeking a Production Technician II (Contractor) to test/assemble small UAS products in our manufacturing facility following engineering drawings and work orders. You’ll perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies, finalize ground control equipment and air vehicles, and test and troubleshoot as directed.

Efforts include improving assembly documentation, collaborating with engineers, and maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent.
1–2 years in manufacturing or production (electronics or electro-mechanical).
Experience with hand tools (crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools, air tools).
Ability to read blueprints/schematics and solder as part of assembly.
Good manual dexterity and basic computer skills.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Analytical, detail-oriented with ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

Assemble subassemblies using hand/power tools; some soldering may be required.
Perform final assembly of ground control equipment and air vehicles.
Test and troubleshoot subassemblies and final assemblies.
Collaborate with peers and engineering to improve assembly documents and quality.
Work with manufacturing engineers to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce costs.
Ensure work order protocols are followed and paperwork is complete.
May train others in assembly processes and conduct in-process quality checks.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
