Job summary

AEVEX is seeking a UAS Chief Engineer to lead end‑to‑end system engineering for advanced unmanned systems across air, ground, and maritime platforms. You will direct architecture, trade studies, and risk management while aligning technical roadmaps with customer requirements and defense regulations.

The role requires commanding experience in MBSE, additive manufacturing, and multidisciplinary integration, with a track record of delivering secure, reliable systems on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Experience leading unmanned or autonomous defense systems programs is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership for additive manufactured unmanned system development from concept through deployment.
• Serve as technical authority for system architecture, design trade studies, and risk management.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, software, autonomy, and cybersecurity.
• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps aligned with defense customer needs.
• Ensure compliance with DoD standards, MIL-STDs, airworthiness and export controls.
