Job summary

Forvia, a leader in sustainable mobility technology, seeks an Autonomous Production Unit (UAP) Manager in the United States to lead the UAP team and ensure the effective operation aligned with production plans and budgets.

You will manage staffing, monitor productivity and costs, implement improvement actions, and coordinate with Industrial Engineering to optimize resources while upholding HSE standards and the company Code of Ethics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management; Master’s in Engineering preferred.
  • Five+ years in an industrial environment; automotive ideal.
  • Three to five years of team management experience.
  • Operational knowledge of Kanban, 5S, Hoshin, TPM, GPAO.
  • Good knowledge of program standards, tools and methods.
  • Above-average communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow production plans and standard processes; ensure plan feasibility.
  • Achieve financial targets: prepare budgets and monitor costs.
  • Manage the UAP team: staffing, environment, training needs, transparency.
  • Implement action plans to improve functionality and productivity.
  • Coordinate resource planning with Industrial Engineering for stocks and staffing.
  • Maintain dashboards to monitor lead time, supply-chain targets, HSE.
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned; participate in training on ethics.
  • Align with Faurecia/Forvia Vision for Value Creation and Code of Ethics.

Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Position Summary :

The role of an Autonomous Production Unit (UAP) Manager is to manage the effective operation of the UAP team, as well as HR issues for team members.

  • Follow production plans, as well as Group standard processes; assure feasibility of production plans
  • Achieve financial targets: prepare and present the UAP budget; manage the actual production costs based on "ideal" costs; maintain product margin, and monitor serial productivity (labor level, material consumption, etc)
  • Manage the UAP team: assure appropriate staffing, maintain working environment according to Group Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards; detect and advise training needs; share information (transparency); participate in career management initiatives, etc.
  • Implement action plans to improve functionality/productivity and to obtain program and Group objectives; make necessary corrective adjustments
  • Coordinate resource planning with Industrial Engineering department concerning stocks, equipment, staffing, activities, etc.
  • Maintain dashboard indicators/status reports to monitor lead time, supply-chain targets, HSE performance, etc.
  • Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company
  • Participate in training to understand and improve skills related to Faurecia Company Vision for Value Creation and Code of Ethics
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management preferred (Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in Production would be preferred)
  • At least five years of experience in an industrial environment (ideally in the automotive industry)
  • Three to five years team management experience
  • Operational knowledge of Production methods (Kanban, 5S, Hoshin, TPM, GPAO)
  • Good knowledge of Program standards, tool and methods
  • Above average communication skills and interpersonal skills
