Job description

This position will be involved in Community Outreach, Children/Youth, Education, and Health, and is a partnership with the Graham County Cooperative Extension and Safford City-Graham County Library. The AmeriCorps Volunteer will primarily support library programs and services. For example, assist in the preparation and presentation of summer programs ranging from preschool to adult audiences, including in-person activities and the online reading program. The AmeriCorps Volunteer will work with a range of audiences from youth to seniors in the community. Must be able to communicate effectively when working with Library staff, the public, and volunteers. A love for learning and a willingness to participate actively in community events is necessary.

Member Duties

• Support library programs and services.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of summer programs ranging from preschool to adult audiences, one such program is the online reading program.
• May assist with event planning & execution of FCHS and other cooperative extension programming.
• May assist with teaching basic nutrition, physical activity, & food programs to community members both youth and adults.
• Community Outreach.
• Program evaluation and reporting.
• Support staff in the use of the Library Makerspace and Library Annex.
• Event set-up, breakdown and actively participating in events.
• Teaching basic lessons to community members both youth and adults as a team members in conjunction with staff.
• Community Outreach.
• Community promotion of events.
