Job summary

Blackiron seeks an experienced Political Analyst to join our U.S. business intelligence team, focused on monitoring the U.S. political environment and assessing risks for our clients. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in political analysis, particularly on Capitol Hill or U.S. political campaigns.

WhAT WE DO

BlackIron collects and analyzes open source data, providing our clients with timely, accurate and actionable insights that inform critical decisions. We examine global geopolitical risk and provide a variety of daily and periodic reporting products to clients in government, national security industry, and finance. We’re looking for an experienced political analyst to seamlessly integrate with our U.S. business intelligence team to monitor the U.S. political environment and inform clients on potential risk factors impacting their business.

What YOU DO

The ideal candidate has more than 5 years of experience on Capitol Hill or U.S. political campaigns, monitoring elections, measuring effectiveness of political messaging, analyzing the broader information environment, reviewing polling data, and producing reports and briefing materials to inform clients on political risk.

You must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and have experience in open source intelligence, particularly social media and mis/disinformation analysis. You are comfortable crafting and running Boolean queries, parsing through large multisource datasets, performing social network analysis, and writing first-draft quality reporting on tight timelines. You have campaign experience, particularly for federal office or on races in large cities, and have a familiarity with major party platforms.

Spanish and Arabic language capabilities are valued but not required. Previous campaign consulting experience is highly valued.

The ability to think critically, speak candidly, and work well with the team is mission critical.
