Job summary

Hanover Foods Corporation is seeking an Industrial Electrician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The role requires PLC troubleshooting, calibration, and compliance with GMPs and NFPA 70E.

You will perform PMs, install new equipment, and coordinate with Production, QA, and Maintenance teams. Overtime may be required to meet production needs and maintain plant reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal electrical training, apprenticeship, or technical certification; journeyman license preferred.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing electrical work.
• Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and food safety compliance.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, motors, and control circuits.
• Strong NFPA 70E, NEC, and LOTO knowledge.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work overtime or modified schedules.
• Commitment to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains electrical systems including motors, control panels, conveyors, packaging equipment, and utilities.
• Performs scheduled PMs on electrical components to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Uses meters, testing devices, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Assists with PLC troubleshooting, I/O verification, sensor calibration, and basic programming adjustments as needed.
• Installs new electrical equipment, wiring, conduit, and control systems per NEC and plant standards.
• Follows NFPA 70E, LOTO, arc-flash protocols, and all food-safety requirements to maintain a safe workplace.
• Ensures electrical work supports GMPs, sanitary design, and equipment conditions for safe food production.
• Maintains logs of repairs, PMs, parts usage, and electrical changes in the CMMS.
• Partners with Production, QA, Maintenance to resolve issues and support continuous operations.
• Oversees electrical contractors to ensure work meets plant standards and regulatory requirements.
• Recommends upgrades and reliability improvements for electrical systems.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned by Maintenance Manager.

• Recommends upgrades, process improvements, and reliability enhancements for electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal electrical training, apprenticeship, or technical certification required; State or journeyman electrician license preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial or manufacturing electrical work required; experience in food or beverage manufacturing preferred.
• Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and food safety compliance preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems, PLCs, sensors, motors, and control circuits.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 70E, NEC, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to remain focused and organized in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime or modified schedules as required by business needs.
