Job summary

Hanover Foods Corporation in Centre Hall, PA, is seeking an Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic (TRAINING AVAILABLE). You will install and repair electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and document activities to support GMP and food safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience with 110V-480V systems and drives is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems.
  • Report problems to Maintenance/Plant Management.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled tasks.
  • Complete documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot motor and circuit controls.
  • Test electrical and pneumatic instruments used in Production.

Hanover Foods Corporation - Centre Hall, PA, is currently seeking an Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic (TRAINING AVAILABLE) that would be responsible for effectively and efficiently installing and repairing electrical systems. This qualified candidate will perform preventative maintenance by identifying existing and potential electrical problems within the plant and coordinate a plan of action to correct the issue. The duties listed below are representative of the types of responsibilities required for the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization:

  • Performing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
  • Reporting equipment and/or electrical problems requiring repair to Maintenance/Plant Management.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on electrical issues as required and as scheduled.
  • Completing all related documentation as required.
  • Troubleshooting and analyzing different motor and circuit controls.
  • Troubleshooting, installing, removing, repairing, calibrating and testing electrical and pneumatic instruments used in Production and the Shop.
  • Working to meet current electrical codes.
  • Coordinating a plan of corrective action when necessary.
  • Adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Food Safety and Plant Security requirements to ensure high product integrity.
  • Adhering to common safety practices and rules, including wearing protective equipment and clothing as required.
  • Supporting the SQF program within the scope of the job function.
  • Instructing subordinates in need of your expertise.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by plant management.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance-related work.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Working knowledge and experience working with 110vac 1ph – 480vac 3ph power distribution.
  • Knowledge and experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage controls and circuitry, variable frequency drives, servo drives and motors, and specialized controllers for temperature and pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC’s and associated sensors, devices, and HMI display functions.
  • Must be able to read and understand schematics, ladder logic diagrams, P & I drawings, and one-line drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, through the integration of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other integrated processing equipment for effective operation and timely repair.
  • Knowledge and ability to plan, size and install circuits and power, using conduit, wire way, flexible conduit, cord and related connectors, enclosures, panels, transformers, routing, and suspension devices to meet NEC code requirements.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical and related blueprints.
  • Must be experienced with medium-to-high voltage electronics.
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime during the green bean season (Approx. July-Sept).
