Job summary

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc. in Anniston, Alabama, seeks a Maintenance Planner to organize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

You will develop work plans, create CMMS work orders, and ensure materials and labor are ready to minimize downtime and improve safety and efficiency. Ideal candidates have a degree in engineering or related field and at least three years in maintenance planning, with CMMS experience (SAP/Maximo).

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance technology, or industrial operations or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of maintenance planning/scheduling experience, preferably in heavy manufacturing.
  • Experience with CMMS (SAP, Maximo, etc.).
  • Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of reliability practices and predictive maintenance.
  • Familiarity with maintenance KPIs and metrics.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Related certifications (e.g. CMRT, CMRP, PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work plans for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Create and schedule maintenance work orders in CMMS.
  • Ensure materials, tools, and labor are available prior to work.
  • Review job plans with maintenance supervisors and crafts.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance metrics (e.g. backlog, schedule adherence, downtime).
  • Assist in root cause analysis and reliability improvement efforts.
  • Maintain BOMs, parts lists, and spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and maintenance standards.
  • Update maintenance documentation, drawings, procedures.
  • Provide support during shutdowns, outages, or critical events.

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability of our operations by planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner will help reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and support the safe and effective use of our maintenance resources.

Job Description

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols outline in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

Physical & Cognitive Abilities

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Primarily on-site in a foundry environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
  • Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body include climbing, lifting to 50 pounds, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials.
  • The work environment varies from a typical office setting to a plant environment that may be hot, cold, dusty, and noisy. It is a requirement to be in and out of the plant on a regular basis.
