Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Roanoke, AL is seeking a Twister Operator for the 2nd shift to set up, operate, and tend to yarn twisting machines in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

You will handle creel packages, move buggies, thread ends, monitor output, perform cleaning and safety checks, and participate in on-the-job training and safety programs; previous yarn manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tend to yarn twisting machines within a frame
• Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister
• Reposition buggies of yarn and stage tubes for winder operation
• Thread ends of single yarns, operate spindle, and repair breakouts during production
• Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer to a buggy/container
• Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe, efficient operation
• Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency
• Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn
• Follow all SOPs and safety procedures and company policies
• Attend training as deemed necessary by supervision
• Perform general housekeeping as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management
